- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 medium onions chopped
- 1 red bell pepper chopped
- 2 garlic gloves, minced
- 1 pound of ground turkey breast
- 1/2 point of ground sirloin
- 1 (12 ounce) can of beer (Pumpkin Beer)
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can of diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- Reduced-fat shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
- Crackers, Chips or Corn bread (optional)
It is that time of year, Fall! That means football, changing of leaves and CHILI! This pumpkin beer chili recipe has it all. Beer, beef, turkey, beans, peppers and because of the pumpkin beer used if gives you that Thanksgiving and Fall spice that makes everything nice.
Directions:
- In a large Dutch oven over medium heat heat up olive oil. Stir in onion, pepper and garlic and cook until tender.
- Increase heat to medium-high, add turkey and sirloin. Cook until browned, stirring to crumble. Add beer and cook until liquid is reduced to 1/3 cup (about 7 minutes). Stir in chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, salt and pepper, diced tomato and tomato sauce. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until mixture thickens.
- Stir in beans, cook for 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
- Ladle 1 cup of chili into a bowl. Top with cheese, sour cream and corn bread.
